Does life ever feel like a constant, unchanging hum? You wake up, work, handle responsibilities, sleep, and repeat. In our busy, modern lives, it's easy to fall into a state of autopilot, where one day blurs into the next. We have artificial light to extend our days and global supply chains that give us strawberries in December. While convenient, this constant "on" switch can disconnect us from a powerful source of wisdom and renewal: the rhythm of nature. For centuries, women were deeply connected to the cycles of the Earth—the turning of the seasons, the phases of the moon, and the energy of the elements. These weren't just background events; they were guides for living, working, and resting. Today, we often push through exhaustion and ignore the subtle cues from our bodies and the world around us. But what if we chose to tune back in? Reconnecting with nature’s cycles can help us feel more grounded, intuitive, and in control, even when life feels chaotic. This is a foundational part of my spiritual practice. Honoring the Pause Between Seasons
The shift from one season to another is a powerful time of transition. Nature doesn't jump from summer to winter overnight. There is a gradual release, a slow unfurling, a period of deep rest, and a vibrant rebirth. When we ignore these transitions, we can feel a sense of unease or anxiety without quite knowing why. We might feel restless in late winter or melancholic as summer fades. As we are moving from summer to fall, tune-in. What does it feel like in your body, heart, and mind? By consciously acknowledging these shifts, we give ourselves permission to feel what we feel. We can use this time to reflect on what we need to let go of and what we want to call in. It’s an invitation to pause, check in with yourself, and align your personal energy with the energy of the world around you. Simple Rituals to Welcome Each Season Welcoming a new season doesn't require grand gestures. As I always say, the most meaningful practices are often small, simple, and personal. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Change can be unsettling, even when it's as natural as a new season. If you feel anxious during these shifts, you are not alone. Here are some of my favorite gentle ways to ground yourself:
Reconnecting with the seasons is a gentle act of self-care. It’s a way to honor that you, too, are a part of nature and have your own internal seasons of growth, expression, rest, and renewal. By making small, intentional efforts to align with these cycles, you can move from living on autopilot to living with purpose, grace, and a deeper connection to yourself and the world.
