Twice a year, the Earth pauses in perfect balance, this week is one of those times. On the Spring Equinox, March 20, 2026, day and night stand as equals—light and dark holding the same space in the sky. For a brief moment in the rhythm of the seasons, neither one dominates the other. This is not just an astronomical event. It is an invitation. A quiet reminder that balance is not something we achieve once and hold forever. It is something we continually return to. Just as the Earth recalibrates, so can we. For those of us walking a path of sacred living, the Spring Equinox is a powerful moment to reset the mind, body, and spirit. It asks a simple but profound question: Where in your life have things drifted out of balance? The Wisdom of Equal Light and Dark Winter is a season of inwardness. The natural world slows, rests, and restores itself beneath the surface. But too many of us do the opposite. We push through exhaustion. We overwork. We overgive. We continue carrying responsibilities long after our bodies and spirits ask us to pause. By the time spring arrives, we may feel depleted rather than renewed. The Spring Equinox reminds us that life is not meant to be lived in constant output. Nature herself moves in cycles of expansion and contraction, effort and rest. When light and darkness meet as equals, we are invited to ask:
Balance means allowing space for both doing and being. Both movement and stillness. Both effort and nourishment. The Equinox gently brings us back into that rhythm. Reclaiming Your Natural Rhythm Spring is often associated with productivity, fresh starts, and forward motion. And while new energy is certainly arriving, true renewal does not come from rushing ahead. It comes from clearing space first. The ground must thaw before seeds can take root. Old leaves must fall before new growth emerges. In our own lives, the same principle applies. Before we move fully into a new season, the Equinox invites us to release the heaviness of winter—old emotions, stagnant energy, and habits that no longer support the life we are growing into. When we consciously mark seasonal transitions, something powerful happens. We step out of autopilot and back into intentional living. A Simple Spring Equinox Ritual As always, I believe you do not need elaborate tools or hours of ceremony to honor the Equinox. The most meaningful rituals are often the simplest ones. This grounding practice can be done indoors, outdoors, or anywhere you can sit quietly for a few moments. 1. Create a small sacred pause Light a candle if you have one, or simply place your hands over your heart and take a few slow breaths. Let this moment mark the transition from winter into spring. 2. Reflect on what winter carried Ask yourself gently:
3. Release If it feels right, safely burn the paper, tear it up, or simply speak the words aloud: "I release what I no longer need to carry into this new season." Let your breath carry that energy away. 4. Welcome new beginnings Now ask:
Ease. Expansion. Creativity. Balance. Joy. (Mine is Courage) Place the paper somewhere you will see it in the coming weeks–maybe on your altar. I wrote the word Courage on my bathroom mirror with a dry erase marker. 5. Close the ritual Take a final breath and say: "As the Earth returns to balance, so do I." Blow out the candle, or simply open your eyes and feel the shift. Living the Season, Not Just Marking It
Ceremony does not end when the ritual ends. The real magic of seasonal living comes from carrying its wisdom forward. In the coming weeks, notice where balance asks to return in your life. Perhaps it looks like:
It is about aligned growth—growth that nourishes the soul rather than depletes it. A Season of Gentle Expansion The Spring Equinox reminds us that life moves in sacred cycles. There are seasons for retreat and seasons for bloom. Both are necessary. Both are holy. As the light begins to stretch longer across the sky, may you also allow more light into your life—without abandoning the wisdom that darkness taught you. Let this be a season of balanced expansion. A season where your mind clears, your body softens, and your spirit remembers its natural rhythm with the Earth. And perhaps, in that quiet alignment, something beautiful begins again. 🌸
